A replica of a 16th-century Mediterranean village overlooking the Chavón River. It features cobblestone streets, an amphitheatre, art galleries, shops, and restaurants. It’s a cultural centre with a rich history.
Dolphin Island Park
An interactive marine park where you can swim with dolphins, sea lions, and sharks. The park also offers snorkelling with rays and other marine life.
Punta Espada Golf Club
A world-renowned golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus, offering stunning views of the Caribbean Sea and challenging holes that incorporate the natural landscape.
Puerto Plata
Mount Isabel de Torres
A mountain with a cable car ride that offers stunning views of Puerto Plata and the surrounding area. At the summit, there’s a botanical garden and a replica of Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer statue.
Fort San Felipe
A historic Spanish fortress built in the 16th century to protect the city from pirates. It now houses a museum with exhibits on the history of Puerto Plata and the fort itself.
Playa Dorada
A popular beach resort area known for its golden sands, clear waters, and a variety of water sports. The area also features several all-inclusive resorts, restaurants, and a golf course.
27 Charcos de Damajagua (27 Waterfalls):
A natural attraction featuring a series of cascading waterfalls and natural pools. You can hike, jump, and slide through the waterfalls with the help of the local guides.
Amber Museum
A museum showcasing a large collection of amber, including pieces with prehistoric insects and plants preserved inside. The museum provides insight into the region’s rich amber mining history.
Teleférico Puerto Plata Cable Car
The only cable car in the Caribbean, offering a scenic ride to the top of Mount Isabel de Torres. The ride provides panoramic views of Puerto Plata and the Atlantic Ocean.
