North East of Casablanca is Tétouan , the Phoenicians established a port here and third-century Roman remains dot the hillsides. Tétouan’s medina is a world heritage site and a member of UNESCOS creative cities network. The medina is still a thriving community centred on everyday life. You can visit the royal artisan school, school of fine art, one of Morocco’s best museums of contemporary art. In the Spanish district of Ensanche you find fine examples of hispano-moorish art nouveau architecture. Music can be enjoyed at the Andalusian music festival in April and august festival of woman’s voices.
